About ThreadSight
ThreadSight is being designed to identify and physically measure screws, bolts, nuts, washers, and threaded fasteners with a smartphone. It combines a calibration reference, deterministic computer vision, standards data, and classification to produce ranked candidates backed by measured geometry.
The project starts with a strict validation gate: a native camera and calibration prototype, M3–M10 metric support, six known imperial sizes, a 50-image test harness, and an accuracy report. A full application should only follow if this approach can reliably distinguish common, dangerously similar sizes.
ThreadSight will not infer grade, alloy, torque specification, or safety suitability from surface appearance. When evidence is weak, it will request another angle or report uncertainty rather than force a confident answer.
